This workshop is designed to assist the participants in enhancing realism in simulated training scenarios by applying Moulage art to the involved actors whether they are standardized patients, low fidelity, or high fidelity simulators. The participants will have a great opportunity to create and practice different levels of situational Moulage which is indicated in real-life in medical, nursing, pre-hospital, and mass casualty training responses.

Healthcare simulation is the re-creation of real-world situations in a way that healthcare professionals can learn, practice and assess their knowledge, skills and attitudes. This field is rapidly growing by adapting to new technologies and innovative solutions. This workshop focuses on one of these innovative solutions in delivering simulation-based learning. In adult learning, it is crucial to gain learners’ satisfaction by utilizing suitable pedagogic methods and tools that enhance their clinical reasoning and decision making. To achieve these goals and others, many simulation-based learning tools have been implemented in simulation centers around the world such as scenario-based learning and the utilization of high-fidelity manikins. During the recent pandemic (COVID-19), most academic institutes, worldwide, adopted online learning methods in order to overcome the problems resulting from the accompanying governmental preventive blockage of physical classical training. Similarly, some  medical simulation centers were resilient to merge simulation-based learning with online technology solutions which helped in the continuity of the learning process of healthcare workers.

Debriefers often have limited availability of debriefing opportunities, and even fewer opportunities to debrief with deliberate practice. Proficiency level in debriefing requires training, and best if deliberate practice. In this workshop, we introduce to peers a simple practical way to maintain continuous development of debriefing skills.

This workshop will introduce essential elements of pre-briefing  and debriefing and application of effective pre briefing and structured debriefing techniques using the INACLS Best practice standards - simulation design and facilitation standards. At the completion of this workshop the learners will have the appropriate knowledge, skills, and  attitudes to apply these techniques effectively in the simulation-based classes and will highly impact the learning outcome.
